The way it’s done…
To say I’m proud would be an understatement. This person has exceeded our expectations. She’s gone from ‘fat girl walk’ to a strut in a years body transformation. I’m you can see the confidence radiating through to the second photo. There are a few things Kathy did & I wish I could convince everyone to do;
- Train with weights at least 3-times a week.
- Be consistent. Staying at it for 12 months will make you more likely to make life-changing progress.
- Make changes to your nutrition. I don’t even mean diet just make sure you’re eating the right foods.
Kathy has completed ‘how to gym’. Once she decided to make the changes, I don’t think it was even too tricky. She started with 3 x 30-minute PT sessions because she was extremely nervous stepping foot into the gym. Now she’s just ditched my attention altogether (I’m not bitter at all) & is attending 4 x 1-hour group training sessions.
I must admit I’m a little sad about this one. However, Kathy has done it the right way! She has sought support in personal training and stuck with it until she’s seen the results she was looking to achieve. She’s found herself achieving an amazing body transformation. Obviously, I would only recommend sticking with your personal trainer if you’re reaching the results you are looking for. Then as the confidence has grown, she’s now doing it herself!
Here’s a little word from Kathy;
“Function Fitness has impacted my life massively. Honestly, I can’t think of any negatives. Maybe I drive my friends around the bend showing them my new muscles and telling them to get in the gym!! But apart from that, it’s all positive! Function Fitness has given me a new outlook on life. Now I feel better about everything and have a different attitude towards life. I wake up every day excited to see what I can do. If I can go to the gym and come as far as I have then I can do anything (Except maybe double-unders lol).
My fitness journey has gone from non-existent and kidding myself every day. Thinking, “you’re not that bad.. there are way fatter people out there”, to then losing more weight than I ever thought possible. Pushing my boundaries & stepping so far out of my comfort zone that I can’t even see it anymore.
I love going for it, no matter how sweaty and gross I look. I’ve learnt a lot, from how to lift weights safely to how to push myself and progress without damaging myself.
How I’ve surprised myself? Umm, this 👆!! A year ago, I would look at people in gym gear and think, “UGH”. Fast forward a year, and that “UGH” translates to I wish I could do that. Look that good, and be that happy with myself.
Well, you’ve done it fatty!! You’re going to keep on doing it because you’ve never felt this happy, energetic, excited and proud in your life!!”

Some people say never to look back, but looking back at this incredible journey is one that is going to be unforgettable.
